Our instructors are professional educators and craftsmen, and have established relationships within the Hopewell Valley community. They encourage students to believe in themselves and each other. Our staff’s mission is to provide theatre-seeking children a safe environment to express themselves and gain a sense of belonging.
Our Staff
Bernadette Furlong
Music Director
Bernadette (Mrs. Furlong) has a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Theatre from Rider University. She is a kindergarten paraprofessional at Toll Gate Elementary School. Bernadette co-founded HVCT in 1999, with the goal of filling the gap of musical theatre education for children in primary grades. She loves working with HVCT children primarily because of the joy, talent, and enthusiasm they bring to both rehearsals and the final production. Year after year, she is amazed by the quality of the final productions.
Ryan Smith
Director
Ryan (Mr. Smith) has a Master's Degree in Education from The College of New Jersey and a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre Production and Mass Media Communications from The University of Delaware. He is a third grade teacher in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District. Ryan started with HVCT during their first season as their technical director and photographer before eventually becoming one of their show directors. As someone who performed in plays during each level of his schooling, Ryan enjoys being able to pass on and help foster the love of theatre and performing to kids of all ages.
Kendall Storcella
Choreographer
Kendall Storcella attended the College of New Jersey, where she pursued a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education. She is currently a physical education teacher at Hillsborough High School and has choreographed for HVCT for several years. In her spare time, she coached the JV field hockey team and teaches dance at CaRu Entertainment in Pennington NJ. Kendall previously was involved in theatre in her earlier years and is so excited to be able to choreograph for HVCT.
Vicki Krampf
Costumer Designer
Vicki (Mrs. Krampf) has a Bachelor of Music from St. Andrews University and furthered her studies in acting in London and NYC. Her performance career has taken her to 38 states as well as Canada; touring with a national repertory company, TV, outdoor drama and summer stock. Her love of design was honed while working at Marisa Christina staging trunk shows and fashion shows across the country. Currently she is a kindergarten paraprofessional at Bear Tavern Elementary School. For 15 years, HVCT has perfectly entwined Vicki's passion for musical theatre, costume design and most importantly, for teaching young people to believe in themselves and the magic of the theatre.
Juliana Krampf
Production/Stage Manager
Juliana Krampf (Miss Juliana) has a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in technical theatre from Elizabethtown College. She is HVCT’s production/stage manager and helps coordinate all technical aspects of the shows. Her vast theatre experience has taken her all over the East Coast, working at many regional theatres including Surflight Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, The Rev Theatre Company, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival as well as many HVCT shows. Growing up as a theatre kid, Juliana understands how important theatre can be to young people. She enjoys sharing her passion and love of theatre to all of our talented kids.
Chandler Storcella
Choreographer
Chandler Storcella is currently pursuing her bachelors at The College of New Jersey for Public Health. Aside from her studies, she is a member of the TCNJ Dance Team and acapella group “ITunes.”Throughout the years, she’s developed her passion for entertainment by being professionally trained and competing in dance with CaRu Entertainment. During high school, Chandler also starred in several musicals including Annie, Fame, Cinderella, and Charlie Brown. Chandler is excited to see the kids bring the choreography to life and share the magic that is being on stage.
